Wow-it has been a quick 6 months since we were blessed with the arrival of our youngest 3. Emily is now officially 4 and a half going on 15 and the babies are a little over 6 months old! We are enjoying watching all the babies develop their own independent personalities and watching Emily blossom into a wonderful little girl.
Emily-- I still can't believe she is registered for Kindergarten! She is so smart and reading more and more every day. She LOVES to read, use the computer and has a great imagination. She is well rounded and can play rough or quietly sit and read. She LOVES the Backyardigans, Discovery Kids, Veggie Tales and the Little Mr. and Little Miss books. She also likes Pirates, dogs, and babies. This spring she finally asked to buy some dresses and some "girl" shirts. This is a big step as for the last year and a half it has been a struggle to get her into anything pink, with ruffles, or a dress. She still loves her t-shirts and shorts but don't we all! My little tomboy is growing into a little lady with an independent streak! She is a daddy's girl and loves to spend time doing anything with her daddy. She is quite sneaky too-or at least she tries to be. Thankfully, she is still at the stage where she will tell on herself. One night recently, she asked grandma for some pudding. Mom said she would have to ask me and Emily quickly responded "Mom won't let me have it, that is why I am asking you!" So cute but I have a feeling timeout is in her future!
Norah-- She is so observant and sweet! Her baby pictures are identical to her big sister. She is generally quiet and just studying the world around her. She is quick to smile and laugh. She does not sleep much during the day and enjoys cat naps of 20 minutes or so throughout the day. She ADORES her PAPA and will sleep in his arms as long as he will hold her. She sleeps well at night and usually sleeps through the night if allowed to sleep in Grandma and Papa's bed:) She does have a nightly meltdown because she is overtired but once she is calm, she is out for the night. She loves just about everything we feed her. When excited or mad, she shakes like a leaf! All the energy has to go somewhere. She can roll over now and likes to try to crawl when she is on her tummy. At her 6 month checkup she was 26 1/4 inches long and 15lbs 12 oz. She is meeting all developmental milestones on time and doing great!
Shelby--She is a firecracker! She loves to move and her feet never stop kicking when she is awake. She was the first to roll over and the first to figure out that she had feet she could chew on! She is our smallest baby and the youngest. At her 6 month checkup she was 25 in long and 14 lbs 9 oz. She LOVES to be held and walked around so she can see the world. She has a serious look on her face but the cutest grin when happy. She has the chubbiest cheeks too! We think she looks the most like my side of the family. She wants to walk SO bad and will jump in the jumperoo and play in the saucer for a good while. She moves her feet like she is walking most of the time. She has the quickest temper and wants her way right now! Not a lot of patience but I guess she gets that from her mommy:) She naps a little better during the day in her swing but still wakes up around 2 AM to eat and play a little.
John--Our snuggly, laid back boy. Guess he should be laid back if he wants to survive with all the women in the house:) He loves to lay with his hands behind his head-while changing him, feeding him or just sleeping. He is a momma's boy and loves a snuggle. The jumperoo is his absolute favorite place to be. He will jump wildly for a long time and then rock himself back and forth until he passes out in it. If you startle him, he will start jumping with his eyes closed! He is also our most sensitive baby. He isn't fond of all the noise and likes it quiet so he can sleep. He has to go upstairs to bed first so we can get him to sleep before the girls scream! He is a big boy too. At his 6 month checkup, he was 27 1/4 in and 17 lbs 5 oz. He likes most foods but is not fond of green beans. He still does not roll over but he is trying so hard. His arm just gets in the way and he is so laid back, that he gives up quickly. His physical therapy evaluation went well and they saw no delays-just a boy who isn't going to be as quick as his sisters when it comes to those milestones. Guess he is strengthening his legs in that jumper so he can just start walking! He sleeps pretty good at night but doesn't nap much during the day either. He does have to eat at least once around 3:30 AM and is up for good by 6. He loves to "talk" first thing in the morning and is rather loud!
