Wow-what a day! Emily and I headed to Birmingham today to see an allergy/asthma specialist. She did some testing and thankfully Emily is not allergic to anything that they tested for. It seems her asthma is more related to that early round of RSV she had (at 5 months) and will hopefully go away in a couple of years. The doctor also thought it might have to do with reflux since she suffered from this for the first year. Reflux can cause sinus/breathing issues if left untreated. We assumed she grew out of it but possibly not. Anyway, she'll be taking medication for reflux and asthma for the time being. We are finally off the nebulizer (it is like an old friend but time to move on) and on to a fancy inhaler for small kids. The nebulizer took 20-30 minutes, this takes 1-that is a big PRAISE!
We spent the rest of the day shopping and running errands and not napping-so we are both exhausted. She is exhausted from not napping and I am exhausted from running after her. Needless to say, work is not so active=)
We recently got a Wii and she is learning to play lots of games that require her to run, jump, and generally work out to make the game work. Good exercise for days when going outside is not possible. She loves it. Hope to get some pictures soon of her "bowling". She is very good at it.
Anyway, just wanted to do a quick update about the asthma. Please continue to pray that she grows out of it soon!
